Recording Original Songs & Acting with Javier Bardem in Madrid
Sometimes, the magic happens off-screen.
For the Netflix animated feature Spellbound, we had the incredible opportunity to contribute to the film’s emotional core: its music and original performances.
My role? Recording the original songs and dialogue—with none other than Javier Bardem himself. The sessions took place in the stunning Dubbing Brothers film studio in Madrid, a space that feels as cinematic as the scenes we were helping bring to life.
Why We Chose This Setting
Working alongside director Vicky Jenson and the fantastic music team from Alan Menken, we focused on capturing authentic performances that would breathe life into the characters. From vocal takes to subtle delivery adjustments, it was all about finding the right tone and emotion for each moment.
Although we weren’t producing the film itself, being part of the recording process for a major international title like Spellbound was a creative highlight—an experience rooted in collaboration, craft, and storytelling at the highest level.
